Where to buy and download MW4
Download the game only from a store Activision lists. This site does not host an installer, a repack or a free client.
From my notes. I followed the store buttons on callofduty.com/modernwarfare4. Steam app 4435490 opened with a price and a 115 GB requirement. The PlayStation product page showed $69.99. The Battle.net product URL returned 401 when checked, so I am not describing that page's contents. The Xbox product id landed on a generic Game Pass URL, so I am not claiming a verified Xbox price from that redirect.
Stores
Steam app 4435490 is the PC listing I could read. Battle.net is linked by Activision at shop.battle.net/product/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-4, but that URL did not return a public page on 23 October 2026. PlayStation: the Standard product UP0002-PPSA01649_00-CODMW4STANDARD01. Nintendo lists a Switch 2 Standard edition. Xbox's published product id is 9NCPSQQD1Z66; the redirect I hit was not a clean product sheet.
There is no free-to-play edition and no browser build. A search for a free download is a different game or a repack. The legal answer is a store purchase, a future free weekend if Activision announces one, or waiting for Game Pass in Holiday 2027. See Game Pass.
Which edition
Standard is $69.99 and Vault is $99.99 on the US listings that actually rendered. The upgrade gap cited in coverage is $30. Compare contents before you pay for Vault: two operator packs, five signature weapons, one BlackCell season, 20 tier skips, 1,100 CP, a DMZ deployment bonus, Hunter Killer, Gilded Pearl and the Inner Circuit M4. Table: price and editions.
