How long is the campaign?
Plan on 6 to 10 hours for the story. A completionist range of 12 to 14 hours comes from outlets, not from Activision.
From my notes. I lined up Game8, TheGamer's HowLongToBeat citation, Polygon and IGN. They do not agree on a single number. IGN says about 7 hours. Polygon's writer landed near 9. Game8 splits Rookie, Regular and Veteran. I am publishing the range.
The ranges
Game8: Rookie 4–5 hours, Regular 6–8, Veteran 10–12, completionist 12 or more. TheGamer, citing HowLongToBeat: 7.5 hours main, 14 hours full. Polygon: 8–10 hours, with 12–13 for a fuller clear, and calls Stranded an open mission. IGN: about 7 hours.
A fair summary is 6–10 hours for the story and 12–14 hours if you stay for side objectives. Stranded can be three objectives in any order or a much longer visit. Nobody has published an official stopwatch.
What changes the clock
Six difficulty names are listed by Game8: Recruit, Regular, Hardened, Veteran, Realism, YOLO. Higher difficulties run longer. There is no co-op partner to split the missions.
