Is Modern Warfare 4 out?
Yes. The street date has passed. If matchmaking fails, that is a service issue, not a delayed release.
From my notes. I loaded callofduty.com/status next to the Steam store page. The store page is a purchase listing, not a live server monitor. When friends say the game is 'not out' after midnight, the usual cause is a license that has not refreshed, or a client still installing optional packs.
Out versus playable
The game unlocked 23 October 2026. Campaign, multiplayer and DMZ are the three modes. Multiplayer and DMZ need a network connection. Activision has not said the campaign is fully offline, so do not assume an airplane install will launch the story.
PC players need about 115 GB on an SSD, TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot. A disk that is still copying is not a delayed release. Size notes are on preload and download size.
Where to look when servers fail
Use the official status board at callofduty.com/status. Known issues called out by Activision support around launch include stats tracking, an Xbox PC launch problem, and a DMZ Prestige issue. Those are bugs, not a rollback of the release date.
Early access players were already in the campaign from 16 October and in DMZ from 20 October. If you bought a physical copy, early access was not included. Store links are on where to buy.

Early access was a head start for digital copies. After the street date, a normal purchase is enough.
