Beta archive
Modern Warfare 4 beta archive
The open beta is over. Nothing on this page is a live download. It records what Activision published before the 23 October 2026 launch.
From my notes. I used the August open-beta explainer and the Switch 2 beta post, then checked that neither page still offers a client. Entrenched, a campaign mission, was playable in that beta. I am not treating beta weapon stats as the launch meta.
What the beta was
Activision ran an open beta ahead of launch, with a Switch 2-specific test that called out Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, gyro, the Pro Controller, HDR, handheld play, cross-play and cross-progression. The exact weekend calendar is the one in the August explainer. This archive does not invent extra weekends.
Beta rewards were account unlocks described in that explainer. If a reward is missing after launch, check the in-game notification center before assuming it was removed. Launch modes are listed on multiplayer.
What not to trust from beta clips
Movement, Kill Block and the 6v6 map set changed between the beta build and the launch patch notes. Use the launch map list for names. Steam charts labeled as beta peaks are easy to mix up with campaign early-access peaks. The 108,500 Steam figure cited by HobbyConsolas is an early-access campaign peak, not a beta chart. See player count.
